Golf carts need to be regularly cleaned, just like other vehicles do. Giving them a wash helps boost their appearance and prevent damage to the exterior. We've created the following golf cart cleaning guide, but you can always contact Beech Creek Golf Carts with any questions. We also carry a range of golf carts for sale. 1. Get The Cleaning Supplies

First, gather up water, dish soap, aluminum cleaner, bleach or mold/mildew remover, towels, sponges, and polish. Make sure you pick products that are compatible with the material you are cleaning. Otherwise, they may not effectively clean or may cause damage.

2. Pick The Right Spot

Ideally, you won't be cleaning the golf cart on your lawn. All the harsh cleaning chemicals used during the washing process could drip onto the grasses and damage them. Plus, there could be foreign grasses stuck on your golf cart that get washed onto the lawn, which can result in new weeds cropping up.

Instead, pick a gravel or concrete surface. For example, situate the golf cart on your driveway.

3. Remove All Items

Golf carts offer plenty of storage space, which means there are likely random items scattered about inside the vehicle. These items could be damaged by water or cleaning supplies, plus they can make the cleaning process unnecessarily harder. Take them out before you start cleaning your golf cart.

4. Clean The Plastic

Yes, you can hose down your golf cart. But this can easily lead to damage of electrical parts. Instead, create a mixture of water and dish soap. Then, use a microfiber towel to wipe down the various plastic surfaces. Don't forget about the cup holders and dashboard. Then, use a clean and wet rag to wipe off the soap.

It's not essential to follow this up with a polish or color restorer. But it is wise! This extra step helps protect the exterior while also boosting its appearance.

5. Clean The Aluminum

For the aluminum parts on your golf cart, you will want a dedicated cleaner. There are spray-on products or ones you apply with a sponge or towel. Either way, you will apply the cleaner and then rinse it off. Adding an aluminum polish isn't crucial, but it is beneficial.

6. Tackle Mold And Mildew

Mold and mildew can grow on golf cart vinyl seats. One strategy is using a solution of one part bleach to two parts water. Or you can use a mold and mildew remover if you don't want to use bleach. Either way, apply the solution and then rinse off with a clean and wet rag.
